Bluefire Partners with Apriva to Deliver Advanced Mobile Security Solution to Government Customers

Baltimore, MD (June 13, 2007)- Bluefire, a leading provider of security solutions for smartphones and wireless devices, today announced a joint development agreement with Apriva, the leader in high-security wireless solutions for the Electronic Payments and Mobile Messaging markets.

Under the agreement, the Bluefire Mobile SecurityÆ Enterprise Edition ñ including firewall, encryption, and logging features - and Mobile Security VPN will work in conjunction with Apriva’s BluetoothÆ BT100-C and BT200 Smart Card Readers (SCR) to provide government customers with additional security features.

Apriva provides industry leading hardware and software solutions for secure mobile applications allowing government agencies to communicate securely through Apriva’s unique digital network agnostic architecture. Apriva Smart Card Readers for Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Cards (CAC) and Federal Civilian Personal Identity Verification (PIV) systems enable hard token certificate identification and authentication for wireless devices.

Apriva’s SensaÆ secure mobile email system is a client/server encrypted messaging application with a device and digital network agnostic architecture. SensaÆ provides PKI S/MIME email, including attachment encryption, full data-at-rest protection, and compliance with relevant protection profiles for Windows MobileÆ OS devices. Apriva’s architecture provides strong security features for Type 1 and Non-Type 1 data transport. SensaÆ works with hard-token Smart Card Readers, or via soft-token certificates.

According to a recent survey conducted by Bluefire,89% of government officials said that security protection should be required of their wireless devices. The top-ranked wireless application was enterprise email access (85%) while nearly all ñ 98% - reported being concerned about the security of email access to corporate server-based accounts and remote access to corporate networks.
