Bluefire Security Technologies Joins RSA Secured® Partner Program to Provide Secure User Authentication from Mobile Handheld Devices

Bluefire Mobile Security™ VPN Receives RSA Secured Certification

Baltimore, MD December 5, 2005 — Bluefire Security Technologies, Inc., a developer of security solutions for mobile devices, today announced that it has joined the RSA Secured® Partner Program. Additionally, the Bluefire Mobile Security® VPN has been awarded RSA Secured certification with RSA SecurID®, signaling its interoperability with industry leading two-factor authentication technology from RSA Security.

As a result of technical cooperation between Bluefire and RSA Security under the RSA Secured Partner Program, customers who are mobile device users can safely authenticate and connect to a computer network from a remote location. The Bluefire Mobile Security® VPN provides a user interface enabling RSA SecurID authenticators, such as tokens, to interoperate with the Bluefire VPN. User login credentials are secured in transit to the network and the integrity of the authentication process is protected. All data-in-transit after authentication is also secured by the Bluefire VPN.

The Bluefire Mobile Security® VPN is built to IPSec standards, NAT-T enabled and FIPS 140-2 compliant. The user friendly VPN operates seamlessly across Wi-Fi, LAN, and cellular data networks including Cingular, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint. The Bluefire Mobile Security® VPN is compatible with most common VPN concentrators including hardware from Cisco and Nortel, and interoperates with other Bluefire Mobile Security® products, for comprehensive end-to-end network security.

The RSA SecurID system is the world’s most widely used two-factor user authentication solution. It is as simple to use as entering a password, but significantly more secure. Used in conjunction with RSA Authentication Manager software, an RSA SecurID authenticator functions like an ATM card for a company network, requiring users to identify themselves with two unique factors — something they know (a password or PIN), and something they have (such as an RSA SecurID key fob token) — before they are granted access to secure business information.
