Bluefire Adds New Personnel in Response to Booming Mobile Handheld Security Market
Baltimore, MD September 27, 2005 — Bluefire Security Technologies, a developer of security solutions designed for mobile handheld devices, announced today the addition of three new employees to its staff: Virtual Private Network (VPN) Technical Leader Brendan Coyle, Quality Assurance Engineer Don LeBlanc and Sales Veteran Scott Swift.
“The market for mobile handheld security is exploding, our base of business is up ten fold in the last eight months alone,” said Bluefire CEO Mark Komisky. “Scott, Don and Brendan are important assets to our team as we scale up to meet aggressive product demands from across all our customer segments: OEMs [Original Equipment Manufacturers], Carriers, Enterprises and End Users.”
Brendan Coyle brings in-depth experience in VPN protocols and network stack development to his technical leadership responsibilities for Bluefire’s VPN product. A decade of experience in architecting and implementing software for commercial products, Coyle was a principal software engineer and team lead at Quarry Technologies and Crescent Networks prior to joining Bluefire. His proven success as team and technical lead, with direct experience in security software, make him an ideal fit for his role at Bluefire.
Don LeBlanc joins Bluefire as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer with a strong background in QA methodology, networks and test automation. LeBlanc’s 14-years of experience in the software/hardware industry, includes software development, software quality assurance and technical support, and software tool and test application development. Previously he worked as a Principal Developer Support Engineer for Groove Networks, Inc. where he provided design and architectural review of Groove partner development projects and created custom tracking tools for the support team.
Scott Swift, a 16-year business development veteran with more than a decade of experience working with large enterprises and mobile carriers, will provide on the ground sales support for Bluefire in the Western half of the United States. Swift comes to Bluefire from JP Mobile, Inc. where he served as a Senior Account Manager for the Western Region. Before that, he worked in a sales and business development capacity for CallTower, Inc., where his efforts directly influenced a strategic marketing and sales alliance between CallTower and Cisco Systems.
