Bluefire Security Technologies Adds Vital Security Features To Windows Mobile 5.0

Use of Bluefire Software on New Microsoft Platform Ensures Comprehensive Security

Baltimore, MD June 20, 2005 — Bluefire Security Technologies, a provider of security solutions specifically designed for mobile handheld devices, today announced full support of the new Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 software platform. This platform, coupled with Bluefire’s Mobile Security® products for handheld devices, create a compelling and complete secure mobile operating environment.

While the much-anticipated release of Windows Mobile 5.0 offers many new features which are expected to move users into further adoption of handheld devices, the platform was criticized by Gartner analysts this week for “…not [going] far enough with security for enterprise-wide deployment.”*

Bluefire fills this void by providing products that address the inevitable and pervasive need for security on mobile devices. “The Windows Mobile 5.0 platform will lead to substantially more business being conducted by individuals and enterprises on wireless PDAs and smartphones," said Mark Komisky, Bluefire’s chief executive officer. “Those users, in turn, will access, store and share more sensitive information via their devices – leading to a clear requirement for robust wireless security.”

Windows Mobile 5.0 allows for improved integration with the Microsoft suite of Office applications, giving users the ability to directly view data, charts and graphics in Excel and Powerpoint on their handheld devices. It also allows for significantly more data storage and the ability to access and save private contact information stored on Microsoft Exchange servers.
