Bluefire Announces Release Of Bluefire Mobile Security® Suite And Bluefire Mobile Security® VPN; Adds Resellers In Europe And Middle East
Relationships Underscore Growing Demand for Security on Mobile Devices
Hanover, Germany March 10, 2005 — Responding to the growing demand for mobile device security, Bluefire Security Technologies, Inc. announced today the release of its next generation of products, with two new solutions, this week at CeBit in Hanover, Germany and next week at CTIA in New Orleans, LA. Bluefire Mobile Security® Suite 3.5 builds upon Bluefire’s Firewall Plus, first announced in July 2004. The new release offers a full-featured security solution including authentication, encryption, integrity monitoring, firewall, VPN, logging, and central management with full OTA (Over-the-Air) capability for security policy management.
Bluefire, creators of the most comprehensive suite of security software products to protect mobile devices and data, also announced today relationships with ubitexx GmbH, of Munich, Germany; Boxing Orange of Leeds, U.K.; and Synergy Software Systems of Dubai, U.A.E., to market its mobile security solutions to enterprises throughout Europe and the Middle East.
The Bluefire Mobile Security® VPN 2.0 is a full-featured IPSec virtual private network (VPN) client bundled with RSA’s BSAFE® Encryption, allowing this new program to meet stringent federal guidelines, as established by National Institute of Standards and Technology in the Federal Information Processing Standards 140-2 (FIPS 140-2). Bluefire’s VPN is usuable across various mobile connections including WiFi, LAN, GSM and CDMA, with no user intervention.
With an increase in the number and severity of threats to mobile devices, demand for wireless data security products and services is continuing to grow rapidly worldwide. IBM’s recently released Global Business Security Index Report notes that “mobile devices such as PDAs and cell phones are the new frontier for viruses, spam and other potential security threats.” The IBM Report adds, “Bluetooth and other wireless technologies that connect mobile devices pose new exposures for hackers to target.”
“As companies worldwide seek the productivity and cost benefits of equipping their workforces with mobile devices, they are increasingly worried about the growing number and sophistication of threats to data on their mobile networks,” said Bluefire’s Director of Sales, Phillip Smith. “Government agencies, medical institutions, financial services organizations and other enterprises throughout Europe and the Middle East will now be able to obtain the advice, technology and products they need through our experienced and reputable network of resellers.”
“Customers throughout Europe are as worried today about the security of their wireless networks as IT administrators were a couple of years ago during the spate of viruses which knocked out enterprise networks worldwide,” said Manuel Sosna, Chief Marketing Officer of ubitexx GmbH, which will represent Bluefire products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. “We believe many of their fears will be allayed when they see the comprehensive security solutions offered by Bluefire.” The Bluefire Software can be seen at CeBIT, Hall 12, booth A55 from March 10 until March 16 at the ubitexx booth.
Bluefire Mobile Security® products are available internationally through Ubitexx GmbH (Germany), Boxing Orange (UK) and Synergy Software Systems (UAE); and in the United States through CDW Logistics, GTSI, immixGroup, Merlin Technical Solutions, and Northrop Grumman.
