Bluefire Continues Expansion With Additions To Management Team

Baltimore, MD February 14, 2005 — On the heels of a strategic investment from Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) and several large customer “wins,” Bluefire Security Technologies announced today that it has added two new executives to the company’s management team.

Todd Weissman, a 20-year wireless industry veteran, has been named Bluefire’s Vice President of Business Development. In this role, Weissman is in charge of creating new business partnerships and maximizing the value of existing relationships with handheld mobile equipment manufacturers and developers of mobile software. He also is expected to play a key role in the design and roll-out of Bluefire’s formal channel partner program.

Jeff Kleiman, a security software industry veteran and specialist in virtual private networks (VPN), has joined Bluefire as the company’s Vice President of Engineering and Software Development. Kleiman is responsible for oversight of Bluefire’s entire engineering operation, including development of increased product functionality and support for additional operating platforms.

“Jeff and Todd represent significant additions to an already strong management team,” said Mark Komisky, Bluefire’s Chief Executive Officer. “Both possess the in-depth understanding of wireless security and proven management experience that will enable Bluefire to continue its steady growth and maintain its leadership position within the expanding mobile security market.”

According to industry analysts, mobile security is rapidly growing in importance as demand for wireless PDAs and smart phones increases. Industry experts anticipate the use of wireless devices will jump from approximately 22 million today to more than 100 million by 2008. As adoption rises, however, so too does the likelihood that handhelds will become popular targets for security breaches.

Bluefire Expands Management Team

Before joining Bluefire, Mr. Weissman served as Manager of Strategic Accounts for Symbol Technologies, driving sales of enterprise mobility solutions to such strategic accounts as Canon USA, Merck & Company, and AC Nielsen. He also was responsible for establishing a strategic partnership with Verizon Wireless. Mr. Weissman previously led Casio, Inc.’s mobile and wireless computing business as Vice President and General Manager of the Mobile Information Products Division.

Mr. Kleiman joined Bluefire after overseeing the engineering organization, including managing development projects and quality assurance, for Funk Software. He previously served as Vice President of Engineering at Trilogy, Inc., developer of the AdmitOne® family of flexible and customized IPsec security software.
