Bluefire Security Technologies Expands As Demand for Mobile Handheld Security Grows

Baltimore, MD October 19, 2004 — Bluefire Security Technologies announced today that it has expanded its headquarters to meet the growing demand for mobile and wireless device security.

Bluefire has relocated into approximately 5,000 square feet at Tide Point, a Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse development in Baltimore City. The new office, in the Joy Building at 1040 Hull St., represents roughly three times as much space as Bluefire’s previous location, also at Tide Point. The new headquarters includes a sales demonstration area and an onsite technical and customer service center to ensure that Bluefire maintains superior customer support as the business continues to grow.

Increasing Demand for Mobile Security

The increased capabilities of mobile devices and the availability of public wireless Internet connectivity,"hot spots" and cellular wireless data services has led to a dramatic growth in the use of mobile data-enabled handhelds.

Data on lost or stolen devices is particularly vulnerable. Information theft is possible at anytime through wireless attacks and viruses which can create a back door into the user’s device. To mitigate these risks and protect personal or corporate information, handheld users are seeking proactive security solutions, which allow them to capitalize on the benefits of mobility without increasing device and network security concerns.
