Bluefire Emphasizes Value of Security for Mobile Enterprises

Company Joins Microsoft, Sprint PCS and Sun Microsystems in Best Practices Forum at CTIA CIO Symposium

What

A roundtable discussion on the security capabilities of today’s wireless solutions at Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association’s (CTIA) Wireless CIO Symposium on Mobile High-Speed Data, hosted by CTIA’s Wireless Internet Caucus. The discussion will feature a dialogue with session attendees aimed at answering security questions and receiving feedback to help guide future product and service developments.

Why

While interest in wireless network security is growing, mobile devices are often overlooked. By not including handhelds in a wireless security strategy, organizations are opening a backdoor to the enterprise, resulting in possible information theft, data copying and malicious code attacks.

Who

Tom Goodman, vice president of operations and representative to the Wireless Internet Caucus Leadership Council for Bluefire Security Technologies. Prior to joining Bluefire, Goodman was the director of security and risk management for Aether Systems, where he was responsible for both internal and client security issues and was the co-leader of Aether’s Homeland Security initiatives. A 20-year security veteran, Goodman has held several other senior management positions throughout his career, covering policy, technology and national defense.

Goodman will be available to discuss handheld security and demonstrate Bluefire’s Mobile Firewall Plus solution, the first firewall, intrusion prevention, authentication, encryption and integrity management software developed specifically for mobile devices.

When

Thursday, July 10, 2003.
Roundtable discussion begins at 10:00 a.m.
