Mike Gill, Chairman

Mr. Gill has spent a significant part of his career developing and leading strategic planning in a number of sectors, including information technology and wireless communications. Mr. Gill joined the wireless industry in 1983 as regional manager for American Teleservices focusing on the nation's capital, Northern Virginia, and the first non-wire line carrier in the United States, which later became Cellular One. In 1984 he founded AMERICOM, one of the leading wireless technical services companies. AMERICOM grew to over 1200 team members, and in 2000 was acquired by Solectron, a NYSE company.

Mr. Gill is a board member of Bay National Bank, a public company, and is also a member of the University System of Maryland, Board of Regents. He was appointed by the Governor of Maryland in 2004 to a five year term and serves as chairman of the audit committee as well treasurer of the board.

Mark Komisky, Chief Executive Officer

Mark Komisky co-founded and leads Bluefire Security Technologies, the first company to develop enterprise-grade security software for smartphones and mobile devices operating on wireless voice and data telecommunications networks. Under Mr. Komisky’s leadership, Bluefire has secured strategic relationships with leading handset manufacturers, including Motorola and HP; leading wireless carriers, including Cingular; and leading infrastructure and security vendors, including RSA, Cisco, and Microsoft. Mr. Komisky brings 18 years of business and technology management experience to Bluefire, in addition to his relationships with leading venture and strategic investors in wireless and security technologies.

Will Clemens, Chief Financial Officer

He has significant early stage company financial and operational experience. Prior to co-founding Bluefire, Mr. Clemens was chief operations officer of Greenspring Advisors, a consulting and early stage investment advisory company, where he was responsible for business plan development and general incubation management activities and served as chief financial officer to two of Greenspring’s portfolio companies. Mr. Clemens began his career with Arthur Andersen (Accenture) in Washington and later joined Legg Mason as an investment banker engaged in a broad range of middle market corporate finance activities within numerous industries.

Dennis Komisky, Chief Technical Officer

Mr. Komisky is a co-founder and leads the company’s security architecture and software development effort. Before co-founding Bluefire, Komisky spent 25 years in architecture, software, and hardware development for IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, DEC, HP, and NSA. He is responsible for developing Bluefire’s first product, the Bluefire Mobile Firewall Plus, and continues to serve as the lead architect and writer for Bluefire’s growing intellectual property portfolio.

Jeff Kleiman, Vice President, Engineering

Mr. Kleiman has over 20 years experience in networking, embedded systems, and security software product development. Prior to joining Bluefire, Mr. Kleiman served as vice president of engineering at Funk Software (recently acquired by Juniper Networks) where he was responsible for security products ranging from wireless 80.1x clients to carrier-grade AAA servers. Prior to his tenure at Funk Software, Mr. Kleiman was vice president of engineering and a co-founder of Trilogy, an OEM provider of VPN and AAA technology. Mr. Kleiman has also worked with Intel, AT&T, Phoenix Technologies, Fluent, and Novell.

Dan Getzewich, Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Getzewich is a 20-year veteran of the wireless industry. Prior to joining Bluefire, he was responsible for the leadership, strategy, and execution of Nextel's customer care organization. This team of eight thousand associates supported sixteen million customers through call centers, service locations, field support, and a cutting edge customer touch-point strategy. Under Mr. Getzewich’s leadership, Nextel was the industry leader in customer retention, cost per subscriber served, and the 2003 recipient of the J.D. Powers Award for the best customer service in the wireless industry. Mr. Getzewich has also held several executive management positions in the areas of finance, operations, and business development with both Nextel and Verizon Wireless.

Todd Weissman, Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Weissman is a 20-year wireless industry veteran. Before joining Bluefire, Mr. Weissman served as director of strategic accounts for Symbol Technologies, driving sales of enterprise mobility solutions to major accounts such as Canon USA, Merck & Company, and AC Nielsen. He was also responsible for establishing a strategic partnership with Verizon Wireless. Previously, Mr. Weissman led Casio Inc.’s mobile and wireless computing business and served as national sales manager and then director of business development at Motorola Inc., focused on the early adoption of Mobile Data Technology in the government, utility, & field service industries.

Phil Smith, Senior Director, Sales

Mr. Smith is a 30 year technology sales and marketing veteran, with considerable experience in selling software to the Fortune 500, federal and systems integrators, and reseller organizations. In addition, Mr. Smith has successfully built and managed sales teams and distribution channels. Prior to joining Bluefire, Mr. Smith was federal sales manager for Sybase’s iAnywhere division, where he established sales of desktop database and wireless products in Mid-Atlantic commercial and federal markets. Previously, Mr. Smith was general manager – Eastern U.S. and Canada for Pervasive Software. Earlier in his career, Mr. Smith held various executive positions in both marketing and sales at Alpha Micro, Fujitsu Microsystems, Sequoia Computer, Xerox, and Data General.
